SYRACUSE - Phyllis E. Mullett, 80, of Milford, formerly of North Webster, died at 12:15 p.m. Feb. 25, 2009, at Parkview Hospital, Fort Wayne.

She was born Feb. 23, 1929, in Leesburg, to Earl and Blanche L. Tom Sutton. On Dec. 22, 1950, in Warsaw, she married DeWitt "Dutch" Mullett, who died in January 1999.

She graduated from Leesburg High School in 1947. She was a former co-owner of Mullett Sign Co., North Webster; formerly employed at Tippecanoe Township Assessor's Office and Kosciusko County Recorder's Office as a clerk. She previously worked as a secretary for Crystal Flash Bulk Plant, North Webster, and Don Hogan Investment Co., Warsaw. She was a lifetime North Webster area resident until 2000 when she moved to Milford.

Surviving are two daughters, Elaine (and spouse Bruce) Wakefield, Nappanee, and Sandi (and spouse Kip) Shuter, Warsaw; five grandchildren; a great-grandchild; a sister, Marilyn (and spouse Pete) Wuthrich, Nappanee; three brothers: Keith (and spouse Joan) Sutton, Greenville, S.C.; Leon (and spouse Sally) Sutton, California; and Nelson (and spouse Susie) Sutton, Warsaw. She was preceded by a brother.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Owen Family Funeral Home, Syracuse, with Pastor Roderick Smith officiating. Burial will be in Leesburg Cemetery.

Calling is from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday and hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
