BERNE – Phyllis A. Winteregg, 87, Berne, passed away March 16, 2016, at Swiss Village, Berne. She was born May 31, 1928, in Adams County, to Otto and Verna E. Owens Hoffman. On Oct. 4, 1946, she married Doyle M. Winteregg, who preceded her in death June 23, 2012. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Berne. She and husband were co-owners of the Poplar Drive-In for 21 years with LaMar and Joan Winteregg. She was a homemaker and also worked for Economy Printing and Parkway Restaurant. Surviving are two sons, Terry L. (and spouse Kathy) Winteregg, Warsaw, and Randy W. (and spouse Diane) Winteregg, Berne; a brother, Charles “Chuck” (and spouse Eileen) Hoffman, Sun City, Ariz.; two sisters, Dorothy Beeler, Decatur, and Virginia Gase, Fort Wayne; six grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Linda A. Rasawehr, who died Oct. 6, 2014; and three brothers: Dale, Kenny and Tom Hoffman. Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday in the Swiss Village Auditorium, with the Rev. Randy Perry officiating. Burial will take place in the MRE Cemetery. Calling is three hours prior to services Saturday at the auditorium.
