Phillip L. “Phil” Scott, 69, Winona Lake, passed away at 7:19 p.m. Aug. 29, 2015, in his home.
He was born Sept. 27, 1936, in Marion, to Carl L. and Mary J. Lee Scott. On Sept. 6, 1990, in Marion, he married Margaret “Peg” Fixel, who preceded him in death April 25, 2013.
He is a 1954 graduate of Mississinewa High School, Peru.
He entered the National Guard March 6, 1956. SP4 Phillip L. Scott was honorably discharged March 5, 1963.
He was employed as a machinist by Chrysler in the Transmissions Group for 32 years.
He was a longtime member of the UAW Union; enjoyed gardening and fishing; and had been involved with the Warsaw Citizens Police Academy.
Surviving are three children: Patricia Mae Thomas, Charleston, W.Va.; Kathy Jo, West Virginia; Michael E. Scott, Kokomo; a sister, Marjorie (and spouse James) Jones, Warren; two stepdaughters, Margaret Miller, Hartford City, and Melissa, Illinois; and a stepson, Richard Bradley, Illinois. He was preceded in death by his parents.
