Philip William Dickerson

RENO, Nev. ­– Philip William Dickerson (Bill to some, Phil to others), 75, Reno, died Oct. 22, 2016, after living with multiple myeloma for almost 11 years.
He was born May 2, 1941, in New Albany, Ind., to Phil and Thelma Dickerson.
He grew up in Crawfordsville, Ind., where he graduated from Wabash College. Hired by R.R. Donnelley & Sons Co. in Warsaw in 1964, he worked in many capacities, including starting up the Reno manufacturing division. In 1992 he founded CareBorne, where he and others developed the Hope Crutch.
He also served on the Northern Nevada United Way Board of Directors, Channel 5 Public Television Board of Directors and the University of Nevada School of Business Advisory Board.
He will be missed by his wife, Anne, and sons Drew of North Vernon, Ind., and Todd (and spouse Wendy) of Phoenix, Ariz. He was the proud grandfather of Michaela and Kelsey, Indianapolis, and  Kate and Will, Phoenix; and two great-grandchildren, Mira and Emerie. He is also survived by his sister, Barbara Means (and spouse Jack); a niece and nephew; and many cousins.
At his request, no public services will be held.
