Philip Alan Krieg, 62, of Warsaw, died at 7:10 a.m. April 21, 2010, in Miller's Merry Manor, Warsaw.

He was born Nov. 12, 1947, in Fort Wayne, to Dohr R. and Martha Keesler Krieg.

Living most of his life in Warsaw, he was a biology and math teacher at Warsaw Community High School from 1970-86. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Warsaw. He was supervisor of driver's education and started motorcycle drivers education. He was vice president of the Library Board. He was supervisor of the Warsaw Boys Club; started the Multiple Sclerosis Support Group; and was named Father of the Year in 1984 of 22 Chapters in the United States. He received a plaque from Ronald Reagan. He attended Fort Wayne North High School on a four-year honor roll; attended Manchester College; and earned a master's degree in biology at IUPUI, Fort Wayne.

Surviving are his mother, Martha Krieg, Fort Wayne; two sons, Andrew Krieg, Seattle, Wash., and Eric Krieg, Tacoma, Wash.; a daughter, Leah Coble, Warsaw; two grandsons, James Mudd and Gabriel Coble; and two sisters, Melanie Inman, Grand Haven, Mich., and Pamela Ioannou, Milford. He was preceded in death by his father.

A memorial service will be at a later date.

No calling is planned.
