Philharmonic Returns To Warsaw Sunday

Posted
The Fort Wayne Philharmonic returns to the Warsaw Community High School Performing Arts Center Sunday at 2 p.m. to present The Phil Holiday Pops, part of The Lakeland Community Concert Association’s 2015-16 season.
The concert will be led by Fort Wayne Philharmonic assistant conductor Chia-Hsuan Lin, according to a prior press release from the Philharmonic.
“I really enjoyed the holiday run out concerts last year with Fort Wayne Philharmonic and I treasured the warmth and love that are shared through all music lovers in our community. I look forward to celebrating this meaningful holiday again,” Lin is quoted as saying in the release.
This year’s concert will include selections from Tchaikovsky’s iconic ballet “The Nutcracker,” as well as more contemporary favorites like “White Christmas,” the annual Christmas sing-along and of course Leroy Anderson’s “Sleigh Ride.” Holiday Pops will also feature talented vocalists Fernando Tarango and Renee Gonzales singing other seasonal favorites.
Now performing its 72nd season, The Fort Wayne Philharmonic’s mission is to inspire and foster a lifelong love of classical music through performance and education. The Phil is led by Music Director Andrew Constantine and is a member of the League of American Orchestras, a funded member of Arts United of Greater Fort Wayne, and the Indiana Arts Commission. Tickets are $20 for adults, children free with adult purchase. All tickets are sold at the door prior to the concert.
Concluding the LCCA season will be “A Tribute to Neil Diamond – Denny Diamond” at 7 p.m. May 14 at Rodeheaver Auditorium in Winona Lake.
Since his appearance on Dick Clark’s television show “Your Big Break” in 2000, Denny Diamond has become “one of the most sought after Neil Diamond tribute artists in the U.S.,” according to the release.
Joined by his sons, they perform music by many of the top stars from yesterday.
