NAPPANEE - Penny Hershberger, 48, of 7089 W. CR 850N, Etna Green, died from an extended illness at 7 a.m. March 18, 2007, in her parent's residence in Nappanee.
She was born Sept. 15, 1958, in Elkhart, to Paul and Patricia Roth Parks. On June 28, 1980, she married Rex Hershberger, who survives.
A lifetime area resident, she was a 1977 NorthWood High School graduate and a homemaker. She was a member of the Wa-Nee School Board; a 10-year member of Scott Township Victors; and a lifetime member of Mt. Tabor Church of God, serving on the decorating committee, as a youth leader and in Christian education. She was a 4-H leader for more than 15 years.
Also surviving are two sons, Jared Hershberger, Burlington, Ioaw, and Bret Hershberger, at home; her parents, Paul and Patricia Parks, Nappanee; and a brother, Patrick Parks, Shelbyville.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Mt. Tabor Church of God with the Rev. Stan Owen officiating, assisted by the Rev. Janet McFall-Brown. Burial will be in Stony Point Cemetery.
Calling is from 2 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Thompson-Lengacher & Yoder Funeral Home, Nappanee, and one hour prior to the service Wednesday at the church.
