One of three people arrested in connection with a July 27 robbery of a Warsaw restaurant has pleaded guilty to the charge against him.
Matthew Strouse, 18, of 340 E. Levi Lee Road #134, Warsaw, entered a guilty plea last week in Kosciusko Superior Court I to robbery as a Class C felony. He was originally charged with armed robbery as a Class B felony.
Strouse; Perry Peconga, 21, of 1763 W. CR 300S, Warsaw; and Katie Joy Hude, 18, of 111 W. Church St., Leesburg, were arrested a day after the alleged robbery. Strouse and Peconga are former employees of the Penguin Point franchise and they reportedly entered the North Detroit Street store at closing time. Peconga allegedly displayed a handgun during the incident.
Charges remain pending against Peconga and Hyde.
Strouse is scheduled to be sentenced at 9 a.m. Oct. 22.
