Penelope “Penny” Lynn Shapiro, 48, Warsaw, passed away at 4 p.m. Aug. 21, 2015, at Parkview Regional Medical Center, Fort Wayne. She was born July 5, 1967, in Spring Valley, Ill., to Robert Edward and Linda Lou Jeffrey Munson. On Nov. 24, 1990, in Utica, Ill., she married Michael Reid Shapiro, who survives in Warsaw. She was a 1985 graduate of Putnam County High School in Granville, Ill., and later she attended Illinois Valley College for two years. She worked for many years as a flight attendant with Continental Airlines. She was a resident of Kosciusko County for the past eight years. She was very involved in her children’s school activities and was a wonderful supporter and volunteer of Warsaw School Corp. Her love was so pure and genuine that she received the same in return from all of the people she shared her journey through life with. Also surviving are: four sons, Mathew, Jacob, Joshua and Samuel Shapiro and a daughter, Hannah, all of Warsaw; and a brother, Robert (and spouse Brai) Munson, Minooka, Ill. Services will be at noon Saturday in the gymnasium at Lincoln Elementary School, 203 N. Lincoln St., Warsaw.
