In response to the letter using the term homophobic, does the phrase "I know you are but what am I?" ring a junior high school bell? These terms are pejorative, or in other words to be used as a means to obfuscate the issue and attempt to embarrass the person who opposes homosexual sin. The words were crafted to propagate the homosexual lifestyle much in the same way the tailors in "The Emperor's New Clothes" controlled the weak minded. Humiliate and berate. It is a militant tactic meant to disarm their opponent. The term homophobia is incongruent to what are true phobias. Arachnophobia is the term given to a person who is deathly afraid of spiders. I have never seen an alleged homophobe scream like a school girl trying to get away from the big bad homosexual.
The Bible says a man who sleeps with a man, like they would a woman, is an abomination. Is there a label for incestaphobia, or bestialitiaphobia for those who believe incest and bestiality is a sin? A bibliophobe is a person who fears books. Should we give it a negative spin and call people Bibliophobic for those who reject the Bible? Bibliophobic would fit the vernacular better than homophobic because it is more evident that people are truly fearful of what the Bible says of death and the afterlife than they are of homosexuals. People do not want to face the effects of their immorality on immortality and anyone who brings up the subject is treated like they were offered a haggis sandwich.
Homosexuals are allowed, praised and heralded in our schools. The Bible and anyone who stands up for Jesus Christ are told they have to keep their religion to themselves. You can wear a t-shirt stating Gay Pride, but if you wear a shirt stating Jesus Saves, you are asked to remove it. I find it hypocritical for the homosexual-supporting community to pay for public service announcements to stop using the term "That's so gay" and turn around and use the term homophobic. Next time you want to communicate your thoughts, try presenting an actual issue as opposed to using emotionally charged pejorative words as a means of degrading someone.
