SYRACUSE – Peggy Felts, 89, of Syracuse, passed away at 8:31 a.m. May 30, 2013, in her daughter’s residence in Syracuse. She was born April 13, 1924, in Decatur, to Willie and Opal Worden Slusher. On May 8, 1982, in Syracuse, she married Nelson M. Felts, who died Oct. 8, 2001. She graduated from North Side High School, Fort Wayne, in 1942, and formerly worked for GE, Fort Wayne, after graduation. She moved to Syracuse in 1944. She retired in 1987 from State Bank, Syracuse, as an assistant vice president after 27 years of service. She wintered in Lake Wales, Fla., for many years. She was a member of Alturas (Fla.) United Methodist Church; American Legion Auxiliary Post 223, Syracuse, for more than 65 years; and the Knit Wits Craft Club, Lake Wales. Surviving are a daughter, Nancy Galloway Feaster, Syracuse; a son, Barry Coy; a stepdaughter, Cindy (and spouse James) Leslie, Leesburg; nine grandchildren, including Jeff (and spouse Chandra) Galloway, Jerod Galloway and Ryan (and spouse Nicole) Schwalm, all of Syracuse; and Joshua (and spouse Jen) Galloway, Monterey; several great-grandchildren: including Kayla (and spouse Corey) Green; Keenan, A.J. and Rhian Galloway; and Tanner, Chloe and Kyler Caldwell; a great-great-grandson, Conner Green; a brother, Ned (and spouse Zina) Nolan, Monroe, N.C.; a son-in-law, Wynn Schwalm, Syracuse; and several nieces and nephews. She also was preceded in death by her parents; her stepfather, Fred Nolan; a daughter, Colleen Schwalm; three sisters, Alice Scarbeary, Charlotte Nolan and Joy Nolan; a brother, Richard Nolan; and a son-in-law, Gene Feaster. No public calling or services will be held. Private family graveside services will be at Syracuse Cemetery officiated by Pastor Jane Miller of Goshen Home Care & Hospice.
