The Personal Computers For Youth Board of Directors recently voted to expand the program to include Kosciusko County. The program will now be serving students in middle and high school, college, and adults trying to obtain their general education degree in LaGrange, Noble, Steuben, DeKalb, Elkhart, and Kosciusko counties. “I’ve been with the program for just over three years now, and I never thought that we would or even could become this large an organization,” Colton Strawser, executive director said. “When I first began volunteering we were only serving LaGrange County, To see five additional counties added to our service area in less than three years is amazing.” Strawser added that business and community support has aided the organization’s expansion into other counties. PC’s For Youth gets all their computers through donations from businesses and community members that are upgrading to new machines, or no longer have use for their computer equipment. If people are interested in donating to the organization they can contact the organization through their website or by phone. Students enrolled in middle and high school, college, and GED classes are eligible to receive a computer from PC’s For Youth. To qualify the student has to be enrolled in an educational institution and cannot already have access to a computer at home. Applications are available in the guidance department of all the schools within the PC’s For Youth service area, community libraries, and online at www.pcsforyouth.org People who have questions can contact PC’s For Youth at 260-220-9268 or by e-mail at info@pcsforyouth.org
