James and Katherine Paxton, 11748 S. CR 500W, Silver Lake, will celebrate their 70th wedding anniversary June 14, 2011. James and the former Katherine Snyder were married June 14, 1941. Jim retired as a truck driver from Sonoco Products, Akron, and farming. Kate is a homemaker. The couple have a son, Phillip (and spouse Suzy), Sevierville, Tenn.; four grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. Everyone is welcome to celebrate with them at an open house June 12 from 1 to 3 p.m. at Peabody Retirement Community, North Manchester, in the Enrichment Room. The couple request no gifts.
