NORTH MANCHESTER - Pauline B. Weddle, 95, of Timbercrest Senior Living Community, North Manchester, died at 3:30 p.m. May 17, 2008, in Timbercrest Healthcare Center, North Manchester.

She was born April 23, 1913, in Wabash County, to Egbert Luther and Edna Cripe Burger. She was raised by her stepmother, Emma Montel Burger. On June 25, 1938, she married Paul E. Weddle, who died Dec. 15, 2000.

She was a homemaker and an elementary school teacher in Fort Wayne and South Bend schools. She graduated from James Whitcomb Riley High School, South Bend, and Manchester College. She supported Habitat for Humanity, Heifer International, United Nations and social justice. She was a member of Manchester Church of the Brethren.

Surviving are a son, Dr. Douglas (and spouse Marie) Weddle, Shenandoah, Iowa; a sister, Josephine Reinoehl, North Manchester; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, a brother, three sisters and a great-grandchild.

Services will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at Timbercrest Chapel, North Manchester, with Pastor Kurt Borgmann officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, North Manchester.

Calling is one hour prior to the service Saturday at Timbercrest Chapel.
