NORTH MANCHESTER - Paula I. Spencer, 63, of Akron, died at 9:48 p.m. April 17, 2010, in Parkview Hospital, Fort Wayne.

She was born April 25, 1946, in Indianapolis, to Paul V. and Violet I. Eddington Houtzer. On Feb. 27, 1965, she married Jesse J. Spencer, who survives.

She formerly worked at Peabody Seating Co. and Eaton Controls Co., both formerly in North Manchester, and Laketon Refinery. She most currently was secretary at St. Robert's Catholic Church, North Manchester, where she was a member. She graduated from North Central High School, Indianapolis, in 1965, and received an associate's degree in computer science from Ivy Tech, Kokomo, in 2007.

Surviving are two daughters, Traci L. (and spouse David) Wilcox and Jessica I. Renz, all of North Manchester; seven grandchildren; a great-grandson; three sisters, Dede R. (and spouse Bob) Payne and Brenda L. Lawson, all of Carmel, and Bonita L. (and spouse Al) Meckes, Schnecksville, Pa.; and a half sister, Kathleen (and spouse Joe) Wimer, Auburn. She was preceded in death by a son, a half brother and a half sister.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Robert's Catholic Church, North Manchester, with Father Sextus Don officiating. Burial will be in Oaklawn Cemetery, North Manchester.

Calling is from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at McKee Mortuary, North Manchester, and one prior to the service Friday at the church. A rosary service will be at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
