Paul T. Heiman Sr., 94, Warsaw, passed away at 5:40 p.m. Dec. 10, 2017, in his residence.
He was born to Anthony and Sophia Uhlenhake Heiman on Sept. 20, 1923, in Columbia City.
He faithfully served his country in the United States Army as T-5 with the 723rd Railway Operating Battalion from 1943 to 1946 in the European Theater of Operations.
On Sept. 4, 1943, he was united in marriage to Gloria Rinkal in Warsaw; she preceded him on May 16, 2016.
Along with Gloria, he was the co-owner and was quality home builder in the family firm, Paul Heiman, Builder, for 25 years, and was employed with Lucas Real Estate for 10 years.
He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Warsaw, and American Legion Post 49, Warsaw. Among his passions in life were wintering in Florida, woodworking and gardening. He was an avid Cubs baseball and Notre Dame football fan.
He is survived by his daughter, Judy Heiman, Warsaw; and brothers: Richard (spouse Mary) Heiman, Warsaw; Ray (spouse Jacki) Heiman, Carmel; and William (spouse Beverly) Heiman, Warsaw.
He was preceded by his wife; one son, Paul Thomas Heiman Jr.; sisters Evelyn Yarian, Rosemary Kerr and Eloise Kinsey; and brothers James and Leo Heiman.
Visitation is scheduled from 9 to 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 15, in McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11:30 a.m. Friday in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw, with Father Matthias Alonyenu officiating. Military honors will be rendered by American Legion Post 49, VFW Post 1126 and the United States Army Funeral Honors Detail.
