Paul R. Taylor, 75, of 1348 W. Oakdale St., Warsaw, passed away at 6:55 p.m. March 18, 2011, in his residence.

He was born Oct. 8, 1935, in Indianapolis, to Reuel R. and Leona L. Salter Taylor. On Dec. 10, 1960, he married Betty Ann Williams, who survives.

He was a 1953 graduate of Arsenal Technical High School, Indianapolis, and attended Red Rocks Community College, Golden, Colo., and Denver (Colo.) Community College. He enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps in 1955, serving during the Korean Conflict, and was honorably discharged in 1963. He was an engineer DOE at Rocky Flats Nuclear Weapons Plant, Denver; was a First Responder Firefighter in Arvada, Colo.; and fire chief at Coal Creek Canyon Fire Dept. He was very active as a coach and umpire for both of his sons' baseball teams in the Khoury League in Margate, Fla., from 1968-78. He coached for the Arvada, Colo. Soccer Association in the late 1970s, and most recently was a bus driver for Warsaw Community School Corp. for the past five years. He attended Warsaw Community Church since 2005, and, along with his wife, was a facilitator there for the WCC Cancer Support Group since 2007.

He will be lovingly remembered by his wife; two sons, David W. (and spouse Linda) Taylor, Grand Junction, Colo., and Karl R. (and spouse Cheri) Taylor, Warsaw; a grandson, Anthony J. Taylor, Colorado Springs, Colo.; two granddaughters, Anastasia M. Taylor and Natasha A. Taylor, both of Warsaw; and two sisters, M. Jean Hall and Betty T. Garro, both of Lady Lake, Fla. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Charles Taylor.

A memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, 225 Argonne Road, Warsaw, officiated by Pastors Bryan Koorey and Jeff Pfeifer. A graveside service will be at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at Violett Cemetery, Goshen, with military rites.

Calling will be at 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
