Paul Leonard Plummer, 90, of 1630 S. County Farm Road, Warsaw, and formerly of Papakeechie Lake, died at 10:45 a.m. Jan. 16, 2010, in Miller's Merry Manor, Warsaw.
He was born Aug. 8, 1919, in Wells County, to John F. and Emma Scrogham Plummer. He married Ailene Bell Squires, who died in May 2005.
Living in Kosciusko County for 25 years, he was a member of American Legion. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II with the 9th Armored Infantry as a private 1st class in the European Theater, Northern France, Rhineland, Central Europe and the Ardennes. He received the Purple Heart and the Bronze Star.
Surviving are two daughters, Pauline Klaver, Cameron, N.C., and Jan (and spouse Steve) Knispel, Warsaw; three sons: David Plummer, Black River Falls, Wis.; Steven (and spouse Cathy) Plummer, Fort Wayne; and James Plummer, Indianapolis; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Southpark Cemetery, Columbia City, with Chaplain Tom Everett officiating, and with military honors by members of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1126 and American Legion Post 49.
