SYRACUSE – Paul Eugene Stouder Jr., 84, of Syracuse, passed away on Monday, Dec. 17, 2018, at Lee Memorial Hospital in Fort Myers, Fla.

He was born on Aug. 8, 1934, in Goshen, to Paul Eugene Sr. and Gladys Markham Stouder.

He lived most of his life in the Syracuse area, graduated from Indiana Soldiers’ and Sailors’ Children’s Home in Knightstown, and attended Ball State University.

He retired from Syracuse Rubber Co. after 25 years and formerly worked at the Old Bag Factory & the Proof Co., both in Goshen.

He was a member of the Sons of the American Legion Post 223 in Syracuse and American Legion Riders in Millersburg. He was a former member of the VFW Post 1342 in Syracuse and formerly attended the Calvary United Methodist Church in Syracuse.

He is survived by a daughter, Pam Nickels of Syracuse; a son, David Michael Stouder of Leesburg; five grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; and a brother, Timothy Stouder of Florida

He was preceded in death by his parents; great-grandson, Jimmy Jones; great-granddaughter, Tara Thornburg; and brother, Glen Stouder.

Visitation will be from 2 to 3 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 29, at Owen Family Funeral Home, 1001 S. Huntington St., Syracuse. Memorial services will follow at 3 p.m. Saturday in the funeral home with Pastor David Henry officiating.

Private burial will take place in the Syracuse Cemetery.
