COLUMBIA CITY – Paul Eugene Leiter, 62, of rural Pierceton, died at 6:05 p.m. Jan. 2, 2012, in his residence. He had been in failing health.
He was born April 14, 1949, in Warsaw, to Cloyce “Dick” and Dorothy Pernesky Leiter.
He graduated from Warsaw High School. On April 1, 1969, he entered the U.S. Army. He was honorably discharged March 31, 1971. He returned to the Warsaw area then moved to California for 15 years before returning to the Warsaw area. He completed his work career with more than 15 years at Supreme Corp., Goshen. His memberships include American Legion Post 258 and Legion Riders, Pierceton, and American Bikers Aimed Towards Education of Indiana, Region 1.
Surviving are a son, William (and spouse Amy) Leiter, California; a brother, Jerry (and spouse Beverly) Leiter, Milford; his fiancee, Diane Sroufe, and her children, Jennifer (and spouse David) Wilder, Columbia City, and Janna (and spouse Mike) Braden and Jody (and spouse Shane) Menzie, all of Larwill; and 13 grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Smith & Sons Funeral Home, Columbia City, with Pastor Ross O’Dell officiating. Burial will be in South Park Annex Cemetery with military honors by members of American Legion Post 258.
