SYRACUSE - Paul E. Carson, 70, of North Webster, died at 4:35 p.m. May 23, 2010, in his residence.

He was born Jan. 12, 1940, in Indianapolis, to Dale Earl and Helena Ruth Blackford Carson. On Sept. 5, 1965, in New Paris, he married Lorraine P. McGill, who survives.

He graduated from North Webster High School in 1960, and was a U.S. Navy veteran, serving from 1960-66.

In 1996, he retired from NIPSCO after 30 years of service as a lineman. He was a member of All Saints Episcopal Church, Syracuse, and American Legion Post 253, North Webster, and a former member of the North Webster Lions Club, where he served as chairman of the Mermaid Festival for several years.

Also surviving are a son, Steve (and spouse Kelly) Carson, Leesburg; a daughter, Tausha Carson, Norfolk, Va.; a stepson, Thomas Pfeiffer, Harrisburg, Pa.; two grandsons; and a brother, Jerry Dale Carson, Arizona. He was preceded in death by a sister.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at All Saints Episcopal Church, Syracuse, with Father Larry Biller officiating. Military services will follow by members of American Legion Post 253, North Webster.

Calling is from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Owen Family Funeral Home, Syracuse.
