Patricia Joan “Pat” Schoettmer, 75, of Silver Lake, died at 3:03 p.m. Oct. 8, 2012, in Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne.
She was born April 21, 1937, in Anderson, to John and Martha Barrett Liptow. On July 27, 1957, in Anderson, she married John A. Schoettmer, who died Nov. 15, 2006.
She was a 1955 graduate of St Mary High School, Anderson. She moved to Silver Lake from Anderson in 1978. She was a homemaker and a secretary at Ninth Street Auto Body Shop, Anderson. She was a member of Warsaw Moose Lodge. She enjoyed watching sports and was a fan of the Chicago Cubs and Notre Dame. She was an avid bingo player. She was a caring and loving mom, grandma, sister and aunt and had a big heart and didn’t know a stranger.
Surviving are four sons: Tim (and spouse Ruby) Schoettmer, Warsaw; Thomas (and spouse) Schoettmer, Anderson; Terry (and spouse Susan) Schoettmer, Claypool; and Todd (and spouse Wendy) Schoettmer, Akron; 12 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; a brother, Larry (and spouse Sharon) Liptow, Anderson; and two sisters: Betty (and spouse John) Richardson, Chesterfield, and Donna Mahla, Anderson. She also was preceded in death by a daughter, Theresa Lynn Schoettmer, who died May 6, 1979; a son, John A. “Tony” Schoettmer Jr., who died May 22, 2003; and a brother, Jack Liptow, who died May 14, 2008.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Titus Funeral Home, Warsaw. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery, Claypool.
