Patricia Ann Yocum, 84, of rural
Mentone, Ind., died at 11:32 a.m.
Saturday, Aug. 10, 2019, near Mentone at
her son’s residence.
She was born April 2, 1935, in
Yipsilanti, Mich., to Harley and Dorothy
Widmer Cox. In earlier years, she was
married to Gordon Lester. She then married
on Jan. 16, 1973, in North
Manchester, Ind., to Dale R. Yocum; he
preceded on Oct. 2, 2004.
Patricia was a homemaker. She was a 1952 graduate of
Montmorenci High School of Lafayette, Ind. She enjoyed
cooking and crocheting. She also loved time with her grandkids.
Survivors include her sons: Thomas and wife Brenda
Lester, of Noblesville, Ind.; Robert and wife Sophia Yocum, of
South Whitley, Ind.; and Joseph and wife Amanda Yocum, of
Mentone; daughters: Rebecca and husband Tracy Morales, of
Milford, Ind.; Connie and husband Kevin Howe, of
Remington, ind.; Mary and husband Mark Lester, of Syracuse,
Ind.; and Donna Pontius, of North Webster, Ind.; 17 grandchildren;
16 great-grandchildren; sister, Margaret and husband
Don Behr, of Arkansas; and brothers: Louis and wife
Linda Cox, of Alaska; Keith and wife Patty Cox, of North
Manchester; Phillip and wife Debbie Cox, of Arizona; and
Robert and wife Frances Cox, of Lafayette.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dale R.
Yocum; and brother, Roland Cox.
Services are 2 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 14 at King Memorial
Home, 101 N. Tucker St., Mentone, with Pastor Jason Rice
officiating. Visitation is noon to 2 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 14, at
the funeral home. Burial will take place at Palestine
Cemetery, Palestine, Ind.
