AKRON — Patricia A. Deardorff, 86, rural Claypool and formerly of Akron, died at 3:15 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 1, 2017, at her son’s residence in rural Claypool.

She was born Nov. 5, 1930, in Howard County, to Virgil R. and Aliene Dotson Hawkins. On Oct. 24, 1948, in Russiaville, she was married to Roger L Deardorff; he survives.

Pat was a homemaker. She was a graduate of Russiaville High School in 1948. She and her husband operated a dairy farm west of Akron until 1986. After selling the farm, they moved east of Akron. They made their home since 2013 north of Claypool. 

She enjoyed antiquing, baking and gardening. She also enjoyed her time wintering in Sebring, Fla. She always cherished her family. 

Survivors include three sons: Michael (wife Pat) Deardorff, Overland Park, Kan.; Dr. Kerrick (wife) Melanie Deardorff, Claypool; and Kevin (wife Amy) Deardorff, Claypool; nine grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Virgil and Aliene Hawkins; and a sister, Jeaneen Waddell.

Following Pat’s wishes, a private family graveside service will be held at Akron Cemetery. Pastor David Eaton will officiate.

Arrangements are entrusted to Hartzler Funeral Home, 305 W. Rochester St., Akron.
