Pathway Church held a ribbon-cutting ceremony Tuesday to celebrate central renovations to the church and to highlight the upcoming Recover Together event.
Lead Pastor Jarod Osborne stated the new renovations were a big deal for the church as they were able to renovate the children’s area and the restrooms for the church.
“In the fall, we’re doing a six-week emphasis on recovering together,” stated Osborne. “We’re trying to reach those coming out of addiction recovery or coming out of incarceration … There’s a lot of good help, but church and faith communities can be a part of that.”
The Recover Together program, coming to Pathway Sept. 13, started from a program in 2019 called 116. Osborne stated 116 was a worship gathering for those who were in recovery or coming out of jail that did not feel comfortable in church and ended up connecting with a lot of people in the community.
The church decided to start the Recover Together program to “cast a net” and invite anyone with an incarceration background, in addiction recovery and those who do not feel comfortable coming to church.
“We have an exceptional Chamber in this community, and we wanted to be a part of that. They do a great job of celebrating and communicating for their businesses and organizations,” Osborne noted. “We hope that people in the community can see Pathway as an inspiring and safe place, regardless of their spiritual background.
“There are a lot of people who are lonely … searching for purpose and meaning. We really try to help people find that in Jesus and live it by serving other people, including in our community.”
