COLUMBIA CITY - Pastor Wilbur E. Workman, 92, of Grace Village Retirement Community, died at 3:10 a.m. April 22, 2007.
He was born May 28, 1914, in Lima, Ohio, to Stewart and Grace Coleman Workman. On April 10, 1938, in South Bend, he married Lillian A. Rhodes, who survives.
He graduated from Riley High School in 1933, and completed his education at Goshen College and United Seminary, Dayton, Ohio. He spent 45 years in Northeastern Indiana as pastor at various Methodist churches, including Bourbon, Craigville, Silver Lake, Albion, Elkhart, Ligonier, Muncie and Etna Green, retiring in 1977.
Also surviving are four children: Ted Workman, New Haven; Daniel Workman, Franklin; Thomas Workman, Fort Wayne; and Mrs. Ronald (Janice) Conrad, Troy, Ohio; 10 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother and a sister.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Columbia City United Methodist Church with Pastor Paul Arnold and the Rev. Dr. Cynthia Reynolds officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery, Albion.
Calling is from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at DeMoney-Grimes Countryside Park Funeral Home, Columbia City.
