Part Of Winona Avenue To Be Closed To All Traffic Starting FridayWINONA LAKE - Phend & Brown Inc., contractors and engineers for the Winona Avenue at Winona Lake roundabout project, provided a construction update Thursday for the intersection improvement project.
The following schedule of activities is provided to highlight major activities. Changing weather conditions and/or internal schedule changes may alter the dates below. Traffic control signage and detour markings will be provided in advance of, and during any closure.
Starting Friday, April 7, Winona Avenue between Argonne Road and McKinley Street will be closed to all traffic. Park Avenue will return to a one-way street heading south into Winona Lake. Kings Highway, Argonne Road and McKinley Street will remain open to two-way traffic.
The intersection will return to a two-way stop indicated through stop signs and pavement markings.
The trail will remain open.
This will allow for the completion of the Winona Avenue portion of the new roundabout.
Winona Avenue is expected to be closed for four to six weeks to perform this work. Traffic leaving Winona Lake will follow a detour route east on 9th Street to College, north on College to 7th Street, East on 7th to Wooster. At Wooster Road and Kings Highway, traffic may travel north/west on Kings Highway to Argonne Road.
An alternative route is suggested to avoid delays.
