BREMEN – The Indiana State Police post in Bremen has added a motorcycle patrolman to its force.
Trooper Jonathon Hart, a four-year veteran of the department, completed a two-week motorcycle training course in Ontario, Canada, this month.
Hart will primarily patrol Marshall, Kosciusko, St. Joseph and Elkhart counties, working specific “high-crash areas” like Ind. 23 in Granger and the U.S. 20 bypass in Elkhart, Bremen Post Commander Lt. James Strong said. Hart also will be used to move to areas experiencing traffic issues, Strong said.
Hart is a graduate of Culver Community High School and Indiana University.
The Indiana State Police force currently has 26 motorcycle units patrolling the state.
