Park Board Approves Revised Program Refund Policy

Posted
Warsaw Park Board Tuesday approved a revised program refund policy.

The revised policy states if approved, the refund will be in the form of a check only, and will be mailed to the recipient at the address provided on the claim form.

The policy previously stated the refund will be mailed to the recipient at the address provided on the registration form.

"This policy simplifies and speeds up the refund policy," said park superintendent Jon Garber.Garber reminded residents and political candidates that political signs are prohibited on park property including all parks and Center Lake Pavilion.

The board also approved revised program and events fees for 2010-2011. Events include a mini musicians program for $15 per child, that was reduced from $30; other programs include a bubble bonanza, a new adult zumba (latin and hip hop dancing) program, daddy's little sweetheart dance, brunch with the bunny and mommy and son adventure.

Parks Director Larry Plummer informed the board that two trees have been taken down at Byer Park and two additional trees were taken down and need to be replaced.

Plummer also said he attended training at Purdue University and received a three-year license for a certified playground safety inspector.

The license allows him to inspect playground equipment and look for entrapments in the equipment.

"I believe this is a step in the right direction for the safety of park patrons," Plummer said.
