Park Board Approves Refund Policy

Posted
Warsaw Parks and Recreation Board approved a written refund policy for park programs Tuesday night.

The board approved the policy request from Staci Young, Warsaw parks department activities director.

The policy states all refunds are subject to the parks and recreation department and local and state procedures necessary to process a refund.

All refunds will require completion of the IRS Form W-9 per state requirements.

If a refund is approved, it may take up to 4-6 weeks to be processed, and if the refund is approved it will be in the form of a check only, and will be mailed to the recipient at the address provided on the W-9 form.

Warsaw can only issue a refund to the individual who made original payment, with no exceptions.

The department will issue a full refund if it cancels a program prior to the start of the program. A prorated refund will be issued if the department cancels a program after the start of the program.

In other business, the board approved fees for parks department 2010 programs and events that will be in the department's recreation guide.

Young said there were approximately 22,547 people who attended the park's department activities in 2009.

The board received a 2009 year-end report.

Accomplishments include repairs to Central Park with repairing pavers for the seating area on the west side of Central Park, and the construction and additional pedestrian sidewalk on the east side of Glover Pavilion. Other accomplishments include new playground equipment being installed at Kiddieland and renovation of the Center Lake Pavilion women's restroom.
