Posted

"We're not turning anyone away," said Frank Rhoades, the Kosciusko County Community and 4-H Fair parade committee chairman, about the fifth annual event.

The parade is Sunday beginning at 4 p.m. The theme is "Neighbors Helping Neighbors."

Units line up at Rodeheaver Auditorium at 3 p.m. and proceed down Park Avenue, west on Winona Avenue, to Smith Street and then to the fairgrounds.

Review stands are in front of the Winona Lake Post Office on Park Avenue and before the grandstands at the fairgrounds in Warsaw.

Entries will be judged at 3:30 p.m. and awards will be presented as units pass through the grandstands.

In addition to watching the parade from the comfort of a chair or car, the procession can be seen from a boat on Winona Lake.

The parade features 4-H exhibitors or clubs, antique vehicles, merchants or commercial entries, service organizations, fire, police, EMS, fair queen contestants, fair sponsors, grandstand events, individuals and car or truck clubs.

Categories are 4-H, antique vehicle, floats, equestrian, commercial and best of theme.

All entries need a written statement, of up to 50 words, describing the unit.

Rhoades said preregistration is encouraged. Applications are available at fair office and on the Web site: kcfair.kconline.com

Entries may be dropped off at the fair office; faxed, 574-269-9691; or mailed: Parade Registration P.O Box 1093, Warsaw, IN 46580.
