Hi, I went to the parade of homes last weekend and saw three amazing homes in the Warsaw area.
They were amazing homes. Absolutely beautiful homes. I was disappointed though. Disappointed because these were all homes that I, a middle class citizen, cannot afford.
I challenge builders to build beautiful, affordable (under 200k) homes next year. You will have more people interested. My husband and I plan to build in the next 3 to 5 years, but would not be spending over $200K. I believe builders can show amazing, energy smart homes that cost less than $300k. Sure, they might not have finished basements, or finished lofts, and granite thru out, but it's about maximizing the value of a dollar and showing people different options.
The way times are now, I was amazed that none of the homes I saw showed an economical home that shows living within our means. I know there are people in Warsaw that can afford huge, amazing homes, but I am willing to guess that most people cannot.
A friend told me that years ago the parade of homes were affordable for middle class, but I guess those days are over. I was disappointed in the parade of homes for this very reason. Otherwise, the homes I saw were amazing. Who wouldn't want a ball room (a room to throw balls) that is half the size of my current home, and a slide that gets you to your basement. I sure would! and if the slide doesn't cost more than $500 I would totally do it! Thanks for listening to my gripes.
