WINONA LAKE — Grace College’s volleyball team was honored with senior Dana Johnston and junior Calah Kruse making the All-Crossroads League First Team.
Grace’s Ellie Harp also earned a spot on the All-Conference Second Team, with Alix Underwood and Hannah Clemmons both being named honorable mention.
Johnston picked up her fourth all-conference award as an outstanding middle hitter.
The 6-foot-2 hitter ranks fourth in the nation with 505 kills. Her 3.8 kills per set leads the conference, and her .279 percentage is second.
Moreover, Johnston’s 1,657 career kills ranks fifth all-time for the Lady Lancers. She sits 33 kills away from fourth place.
Kruse’s recognition was the first of her career.
The outside hitter has pounded out 383 kills this season and has racked up 17 double-doubles. Her average of 3.3 kills per set in conference play is tied for sixth in the league. Additionally, she ranks second on the team in digs with 506.
Newcomer Harp is Grace’s primary setter and the junior handed out 1,027 assists for an average of 9.1 assists per set this year.
She topped 30 assists in 19 matches, including 10 matches with at least 40 assists and three games of at least 50 assists.
As an honorable mention selection, Underwood recorded 146 kills on a .213 percentage before an injury ended her season after 19 matches.
Clemmons made the positional change to libero this fall and has led the Lady Lancers’ defense with 535 digs. She also has connected on 97 percent of her serves.
The Lady Lancers will aim to continue their season when they travel to Oakland City on Nov. 22 for the NCCAA Midwest Regional Championship.
Grace is hoping for its third-consecutive trip to NCCAA Nationals in Kissimmee, Fla.
