PIERCETON - Pablo I. De La Cruz, 83, of 415 S. First St., Pierceton, died at 9:20 a.m. March 17, 2009, in his residence.
He was born June 25, 1925, in Coahuila, Mexico, to Fidencio and Teodora Ibarra De La Cruz. On Sept. 8, 1947, in Mount Pleasant, Mich., he married Manuela Aleman, who survives.
Moving to Kosciusko County from Eagle Pass, Texas, in 1950, he was a machinist at White Metal and Browers. He was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, Pierceton.
Also surviving are three daughters: Eva (and spouse Jose) Guerrero, Columbia City; Linda Amezquita, Elkhart; and Elvia (and spouse Rod) Obregon, Pierceton; three sons, Alex De La Cruz and Pablo (and spouse Barb) De La Cruz Jr., all of Warsaw, and Henry (and spouse Roxanne) De La Cruz, Larwill; two brothers, Juan De La Cruz and Guillermo De La Cruz, both of Eagle Pass; a sister, Alfonsa De La Cerda, Eagle Pass; 15 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by three brothers.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, Pierceton, with Father Bruce Plechocki officiating. Burial will be in St. Francis Xavier Cemetery, Pierceton.
Calling is from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Pierceton.
