INDIANAPOLIS - This September, the Orr Fellowship begins its seventh recruiting season.
Interested students are encouraged to submit their resume online at www.orrfellowship.org by Sept. 28 as first round interviews begin in early October.
The Orr Fellowship is a unique opportunity for outstanding undergraduate students searching for their first full-time position following graduation. As Orr Fellows, the young professionals work closely for a minimum of two years with executives and other top-tier officials at Indiana's fastest growing entrepreneurial companies. Orr Fellows help develop and implement innovative projects within the host companies.
Orr Fellows meet monthly with Indiana's most accomplished business and community leaders to discuss leadership development. The Fellows also participate in community service projects, which in the past have included Junior Achievement's Exchange City and Schools on Wheels.
Students must meet the following requirements to qualify: student of Indiana college or university, or native of the state; demonstrated leadership potential: significant involvement in campus activities, strong work ethic and communication skills, and teamwork orientation; cumulative grade point averages of 3.5 or higher are preferred, although consideration will be given to candidates with extraordinary leadership experience and GPAs as low as 3.2; candidate for graduation by May 2008 - undergraduates only.
Since its inception in 2001, the Orr Fellowship has fulfilled its mission to keep Indiana's best and brightest graduates in the state by placing 56 fellows at sponsoring Indiana companies. After the two-year program, past fellows have gone on to pursue graduate degrees at Harvard Business School and Kellogg School of Management, found their own start-up companies, and hold key positions at companies across the state.
