On April 22, Albert Orcutt, accompanied by his son Rex, flew to Washington, D.C., on an Honor Flight. There were 69 other World War II veterans, and their guardians on the 16th Honor Flight of Northeast Indiana. The flight departed the Air Guard Base at the Fort Wayne International Airport and landed at Reagan National. The veterans visited the World War II Memorial, Korean War Memorial, Vietnam War Memorial, Lincoln Monument and Air Force Memorial. The veterans were all present for the changing of the guard at the Tomb of the Unknown Solider. Upon returning to Fort Wayne the veterans were greeted by hundreds of family, friends and patriotic well wishers.
