Orace “Win” Winston Morrison, 88, of 316 W. Center St., Warsaw, passed away at 10:30 a.m. May 5, 2011, in the emergency room at Kosciusko Community Hospital, Warsaw. He was born Aug. 21, 1922, in Buckhannon, W.Va., to Orace William and Laverna M. Young Morrison. On Aug. 30, 1947, he married Carolyn Jean Nafis, who survives. He served during World War II in the U.S. Army Air Corp. He was a graduate of Emerson High School, Gary, and Purdue University, after which he worked as an electrical engineer. He worked at NIPSCO from 1961-83 as a supervising engineer in Warsaw. He moved to Warsaw in 1961 where he was a member of Warsaw Evangelical Presbyterian Church. He was a member of the Warsaw Kiwanis Club for 47 years, joining Jan. 6, 1964. He was the editor of the club bulletin for 20 years, after 45 years of perfect attendance he received the Legion of Honor Award. He was also an avid ham radio operator. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife; two daughters, Elsie French, New Castle, and Judy (and spouse David) Owens, Lawrenceville, Ga.; a son, Richard (and spouse Sally) Morrison, Mansfield, Ohio; 10 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Doris Morrison; a sister, Carolyn McSherry; and a brother, John Wease Morrison. Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, 225 Argonne Road, Warsaw, with Pastor Erik Ohman officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw, with military rites by members of American Legion Post 49 and Veterans of Foreign Wars 1126, both in Warsaw, and the Indiana ARNG Honor Guard.
