BOURBON – Opal M. Jackson, 98, of Warsaw, passed away on Saturday, Oct. 4, 2025, in Paddock Springs of Warsaw.
Opal was born to Leroy and Fern Heckaman Poulson on Aug. 15, 1927, in Bremen. She married Vernon Jackson on Aug. 3, 1944, and he preceded her in death on July 24, 2009. She worked for Biomet Inc. for 25 years in the soft goods department. She attended Goshen Grace Community Church and was a member of the Bourbon American Legion Ladies Auxiliary. She resided at Paddock Springs of Warsaw for over five years. She enjoyed cooking for family and spending time with her grandchildren.
Opal is survived by her daughters: Diane (David) Rensberger, of Syracuse; Brenda Lawmaster, of Fort Myers, Fla.; her four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
Opal was preceded in death by her parents, Leroy and Fern Poulson; her husband, Vernon Jackson; and her brothers, Richard Poulson and Donald Poulson.
A visitation will be held on Friday, Oct. 10 from 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. at Deaton-Clemens Funeral Home, 115 S. Main St., Bourbon. A funeral will follow at 3:30 p.m. with Pastor Larry Shutske officiating. The burial will take place in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Bourbon.
