NORTH MANCHESTER - Opal Loraine Guthrie, 81, of North Manchester, died at 4 p.m. March 7, 2007, in Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne.
She was born May 19, 1925, in Ijamsville, to Hugh O. and Lena M. Dixon Gable. On Oct. 21, 1950, in North Manchester, she married Dale W. Guthrie, who died July 24, 1995.
Living in the Manchester area, she was a homemaker and a member of American Legion 286 Auxiliary, Women of the Moose and Fraternal Order of Eagles Ladies' Auxiliary, all in North Manchester. She was an excellent seamstress and enjoyed participating and visiting at her clubs.
Surviving are a son, Tom G. (and wife Sheila) Guthrie, Warsaw; and a daughter, Mrs. James (Connie) Bryan, Warsaw. She was preceded in death by a brother and two sisters.
A graveside service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Chapel of Remembrance Mausoleum at Memorial Lawns Cemetery, Wabash, with Pastor J.P. Freeman officiating.
