Onyx Adopted On Saturday By Couple After 431 Days At AWLEveryone loves a happy ending, and that’s what Onyx got after 431 at the Animal Welfare League of Kosciusko County.
On Saturday, the AWL posted a photo of Onyx and her owners with the headline “Onyx Went Home.”
The post states Onyx will be enjoying her years with two doggy siblings and the best “fur-parents” around. Her new siblings - Louise and Theo - were adopted from the AWL a few months ago.
Saturday made Onyx’s 431rd day in the care of the shelter.
“We could not be happier to see her finally get her chance at a home that every dog deserves,” the AWL posted.
The shelter thanked Chris Cage & Willie 103.5, Times-Union, InkFreeNews and everyone who shared and read Onyx’s story that helped make the adoption possible.
There were at least 20-30 people interested in Onyx and she has never had so much attention than what she received over the prior two days prior to her adoption.
The AWL has two other dogs that have been with them for over a year - Rico and Chief - and 10 more dogs that have been at the shelter for over five months.
Onyx is 8 years old, an indoor girl and a “total sweetheart,” a news release from the AWL stated.
Before Onyx arrived at the AWL, she was a long-term guest at the Kokomo Humane Shelter. She transferred to the AWL on an exchange program to give her a brand-new look in a brand-new community.
“If Onyx broke your heart due to her story, just know she will be happy, but we will always have dogs in our kennels that need homes, too,” the AWL posted.
