One Injured In Two-Vehicle AccidentOne person was injured after a two-vehicle accident Thursday morning at the intersection of West CR 400N and North CR 150W, Warsaw.
According to the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office accident report, Martez D. Lewis, 30, Indianapolis, was driving west on CR 400N in a truck. Kenneth L. Stanford, 55, Turtle Bay Drive, Syracuse, was driving a 1998 Ford 2XS east on CR 400N. Both vehicle were approaching the intersection of North CR 150W.
Lewis said he was going to turn south on North CR 150W but he didn’t think he could make the turn due to the position of another vehicle. Lewis said he waved at the other vehicle requesting the driver back up so Lewis could make the turn. Lewis said he then turned left and did not see Stanford’s vehicle. Standford’s vehicle hit the rear right of Lewis’ truck.
Stanford said he was driving east when Lewis’ truck turned left into the path of his vehicle.
A witness said she observed Lewis turn left and fail to yield to Stanford’s vehicle.
