Shortly before noon Thursday, the Atwood Fire Department, Lutheran EMS and the Kosciusko County Sheriff's Office were dispatched to the 4200 block of West Old 30 for a personal injury crash. Deputies first on the scene were guided to a 1996 Chevrolet pickup, in the pine trees, west of a barn on the north side of the road. The driver of the Chevrolet pickup was identified as Danny Hale, 65, Warsaw. The preliminary investigation indicates that the Chevrolet pickup was traveling east on Old 30, west of the crash location. The pickup left the roadway, drove through a field and struck a pine tree. Lutheran Air Ambulance was called to the scene due to arm and leg injuries. Alcohol is believed to be a factor and the crash remains under investigation by the Kosciusko County Sheriff's Office.
