One Hurt In Sunday Crash

Posted
LEESBURG – One person was transported to Luthern Hospital in Fort Wayne early Sunday morning after a Jeep ran off the road and overturned.
Joseph E. Trump, 24, of 340 E. Levi Lee Rd., Lot 129, Warsaw, was traveling home when his 2012 Jeep left the road and rolled over near the intersection of Armstrong Road and North CR 200E, Leesburg.
When police arrived, the passenger side of the Jeep was ripped off and the front wheel was missing. Trump was treated by paramedics on the scene, and he advised that he could not remember anything about the crash.
According to the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department, it appeared that while Trump’s vehicle was westbound on Armstrong Road going around a left-hand curve, the vehicle left the right side of the roadway, struck a NIPSCO utility pole on the north side of the roadway and overturned after losing its right front wheel.
Tire marks on the roadway were consistent with his claim he was traveling toward his residence, according to the KCSD. The NIPSCO utility pole struck during the crash did not sustain any significant damage. Damage was estimated at $10,000 to $25,000.
