One person was arrested after police were called to a fight in the parking lot of a local bar early Sunday morning.
Vernon L. Smith, 45, of 8410 Sumac Lane, North Webster, was booked into the Kosciusko County Jail around 4:05 a.m. for public intoxication. Smith also faces criminal recklessness charges for allegedly firing a gun into the air during the parking lot altercation.
According to the Warsaw Police Department, officers were called to the Time Out Inn around 2:33 a.m. Sunday after receiving information about a fight in the parking lot.
Two people reportedly were involved in the altercation, during which Smith allegedly fired a .25 caliber gun into the air.
Officers from Kosciusko County Sheriff's Department, Warsaw Police Department and Winona Lake Police Department responded to the incident.
The incident remains under investigation at this time.
