NAPPANEE - Oliver C. "Red" Truex, 74, of 356 S. Locke St., Nappanee, died at 1:25 p.m. Dec. 17, 2010, in his residence.

He was born Feb. 29, 1936, in Nappanee, to S. Charles Truex and Ethel Marie Kilmer. On Dec. 30, 1965, he married Sandy Burge, who survives in Nappanee.

A lifetime Nappanee resident, he attended Nappanee High School. He was a truck driver. He was a member of Whiskerville Truckers, Nappanee.

Also surviving are a son, Dan (and spouse Deb) Truex, Nappanee; three daughters, Tammy (and spouse Bruce) Teal, Nappanee, Deb Wallace, Nappanee, and Tracy Truex, Nappanee; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and a sister, Francis Shaw, Nappanee. He was preceded in death by a brother, Gilford Truex.

Calling is from 2 to 4 p.m. Thursday at Thompson-Lengacher & Yoder Funeral Home, Nappanee.

A memorial service will follow at 4 p.m., with the Rev. Bart Shaw, First Brethren Church, officiating.
