This holiday season, the Wagon Wheel Theatre will present the musical adaptation of Charles Dickens’ “Oliver!” This musical comes to life Fridays through Sundays, Nov. 30 through Dec. 16, and features the Tony Award-winning score. Songs include “Consider Yourself”, “Food, Glorious Food” and “You’ve Got to Pick a Pocket or Two” to name a few. Artistic Director Scott Michaels cast 27 students in the program. “Oliver!”, while not overtly linked to Christmas, is a holiday show as the Dickens tale takes place in cold, winter London and inspires to consider the less fortunate. In addition, The Wagon Wheel invites you to come out opening night for the theater’s first “Wine-Opener”. Tickets to the preshow party include free wine tasting, cocktails and hors d’oeuvres. You will meet the cast, and there will be photo opportunities, Christmas caroling and more. The Wagon Wheel will include two tickets to the 8 p.m. opening night production. Guests will have first chance to view and purchase Christmas auction items such as a Christmas trip to Chicago (including accomodations), personal holiday shopping and decorating elves. You could even win a cameo appearance in a performance of “Oliver!” For more information, call 574-267-8041. Tickets to “Oliver!” are on sale now by calling the box office or by visiting the website at wagonwheeltheatre.org
