Oil

Posted
Editor, Times-Union:

People and Congress people are arguing about whether to drill for more oil or develop other alternatives. As for me, why not do both? Anybody with common sense knows at the rate of oil consumption and increasing every day, it will run out some day, but not any time soon.

I have heard it said that there is more oil in Alaska than in Saudi Arabia. I don't know if this is true. Why not find out and use oil from this country, the USA? We must use common sense when dealing with this problem. Don't you think developing other alternatives is a priority?

T.J. Dickens has a commercial on TV in which he says the cost of oil to the U.S. is as costly as the Iraq War by four times. At this rate, the U.S. will go bankrupt. We don't want this to happen, do we?

Our path should not be this hard to figure out. Let's get out of this mess while we can. Call your Congress people and put this problem on a path of doing something about it or, otherwise, the next election - do something about it.
