Three Arrested In Picking 'Pot'

Three men were arrested Tuesday morning and charged with possession of marijuana after police received a report of pickers in a local field.
Robert Lee Royse II, 19; Matthew Glendon Lakes, 18; and Dane Williams Purvis, 18, all of Fairmount, were arrested after allegedly picking wild marijuana.
The Kosciusko County Sheriff's Department received a call at 6:45 a.m. that reportedly said several men were picking marijuana in a field located in the northern part of the county.
According to police reports, Purvis was driving a car that was spotted as it waited along the road. Police said Purvis was covered with dirt and weeds.
Sheriff's deputies reported they waited for Royse and Lakes to come out of the field. Police found six garbage bags containing was is believed to be marijuana plants weighing approximately 48 pounds near the two men.
The three are being held without bond in the Kosciusko County Jail.
