Of The People

The electoral college, superdelegates and caucuses do not have to reflect the people's vote. This means that the people do not elect, these bodies do. Caucuses consist of select people, supposedly of a wide base of demographics. Many times these select people are hand picked by the "machine" of the state. Possibly a hundred people, in a room and they walk to opposing corners to represent their choice. Then argue until they are told to vote. Not a very good representation of the people of a whole state. Primaries are the better way to choose candidates. Let all decide, not a few.

Thomas Jefferson stated when our government does not represent the people, our government should be changed. We are at that point. It is time to disavow the EC, the SD and the caucuses. All primaries should be set for all states on the same date. Eliminate the advantages of some states over others (create an even playing field).

Currently, we are at an impasse with candidates. One will continue in the current path. The other, I believe, wants to change things but has a strong lack of experience. Our nation being what it is, there is possibly a 50-50 chance that this candidate will be "taken out of the picture," IF he wins the general election. But he probably will not win the presidency without the votes of his former female opponent being on the ticket. Whichever candidate wins, it will still be the "Good ol' boys club."

I have not, I do not now and I will never advocate a forced overthrow of our government. But, in my heart, I believe this is the only way it can ever be put back in the people's hands. Our government also knows this. It will never happen. So just suck it up, work hard when you can find a job and get used to our politicians doing for themselves and not for "the people."
