Leesburg/Plain Township Fire Department responded to a mobile home fire around 10:15 a.m. Thursday in Green Acres Trailer Park, Warsaw. According to Leesburg Fire Chief Michael Wilson, a malfunction in the mobile home’s dryer caused a small fire, though the fire was contained to the appliance. There was light smoke throughout the home and a small amount of floor damage around the dryer. The dryer was consumed. Wilson said Lourdes Gaytan, 46, was inside the home at the time of the incident and was awoken by the sound of smoke detectors. She was able to exit the home safely and was later transported to Kosciusko Community Hospital and treated for smoke inhalation. Leesburg/Plain Township was assisted by Warsaw/Wayne Township Fire Department.
